Sample Chocolatier Blue should not be a question, more of a statement. I first encountered truffles from Chocolatier Blue at our favorite local chocolate stop…. they had an entire counter, three shelves full to select from. So I will only be highlighting a few of our favorites here because yes, we did indulge.
However, before I begin with your virtual taste of these absolutely delightful treats I discovered a few details about Chocolatier Blue that make it even a little sweeter.
1- The use Domori chocolate. For those of you that are unaware, Domori can easily be argued as the best chocolate in the world.
2- He obtains his hazelnuts from Sicily.
3- Each chocolate has a pinch of salt from France… just to give each treat that balance of savory sweetness.
Beyond that it appears that Chris grew up around farms and produce… well he must have an eye for it because these truffles were mighty tasty.
Our favorites…
Sage Honey Truffle-
This truffle was smooth all over. Usually I am not a fan of white chocolate however blended with the sage honey for an ultra smooth filling was absolutely divine.
Grapefruit and Rosemary Truffle
If you have read this blog for awhile, then you also know that growing up I preferred a chocolate bar over a box of truffles. I especially love creative flavors such as this one that still turn out to be tasty treat party for your taste buds. This truffle starts off with a tart but sweet taste. Already you can sense a hint of rosemary in the mix. The chocolate flavor then becomes stronger as you finish off the truffle and as always the entire experience is perfectly smooth. My favorite.
Peanut Butter and Strawberry Jam Truffle
You have to love a classic and this one tastes just as it reads. Enjoy the peanut butter that jumps out right at the beginning and then follows up with a blended chocolate and jam sensation.
We tried many more and given the chance I strongly encourage you to do the same.
Has anyone tried any new chocolates lately?

Oh I am goanna need some of those soon! Yum!!!
I tell you, a good truffle is absolutely to die for.
I love virtually tasting fabulous chocolates on your blog! These look divine…I love the addition of savory flavors like sage and salt to something sweet. My favorite chocolates I have ever encountered are the champagne truffles from Teuscher. To die for!
I will have to look them up. I just laugh every time I taste a really good truffle- to think I did not care for them mostly growing up… because I never had a good truffle.
Thanks for coming by!
Sounds soooooooo delicious…and now you just made me crave chocolate..andi its my time of the month
Then indulge my friend. I seriously understand that!
I wish! I had chocolate chips in my trail mix yesterday. Does that count?
Absolutely! I think it is a rarity that I purchase a trail mix without chocolate. And it must not contain raisins either. Thanks for visiting today!
It all sounds tasty! I am being introduce to new chocolate here, never heard of Domori before. Love the blog.
Domori is just fabulous, if you ever get the chance, try them! Or stay tuned here… that chance may come soon!
Ok, this has seriously started me to craving some chocolate right now…. SIGH… and now is around.. I think I would love it all but the Peanut Butter & Strawberry one sounds just delightful. I think I may be ordering some soon or at least when I return f=home form my trip.
I am sure there is chocolate somewhere on your trip. Although, I do have to note that we took our own chocolate supply to Africa because there was not much there.
