Just because I love you guys and want to have a top notch chocolate blog just for you- I went to a blog conference. I packed my cloths, husband and kiddo and we set off for the wonder land of Las Vegas. There are exciting things to come for the blog, but in the meantime, here are a few things we enjoyed.
1- I met Susan!
Susan Cooper is blogs at Finding Our Way Now where she shares her illustrations and fun stories about life and those lessons that we sometimes do not enjoy learning. Susan was one of the first people to catch site of My Chocolate Peaces and has been here ever since. Meeting a fellow chocolate enthusiast is so much fun… and an instant friend. I am so bummed though. I was so excited to meet her and such a whirlwind on the trip- I did not get a picture. If you get a chance though, you should go meet her at her blog. You won’t be disappointed.
2- The Border Grill
I met the 2 owners of the Border Grill while I was at a conference over the summer. Aside from being hilarious… their food was fantastic. If you get the chance to go, I recommend the Quinoa fritters.
3- I remembered my earplugs.
Unfortunately, my husband had a bit of a cough going down there… and I was not looking forward to staying in the same hotel room. Earplugs saved the day!
4- Attending the conference
Of course it would be silly to write about a conference and not mention it. The event (Bloggy Boot Camp) was very different from others I have been too, but great all the same. It was nice to have a bit of a smaller group and a bit low key. I got to meet some other amazing bloggers and easily find immediate answers to my questions.
5- The tallest chocolate fountain in the world
I don’t even remember how I found out about this. But of course, we had to make the ritual stop. No disappointments here. The tallest chocolate fountain in the world is located at the Bellagio right next to an amazing pastry shop. The pastries and assorted yummies are created by Jean Philippe Maury who is from France. Sorry for the pictures… I only had my iphone available.
I know they say what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas… but if you have a G-rated event to share, especially if it involves chocolate- please do!
