Okay, so first a disclaimer- my leftovers are probably a little different than yours. But if you want to try this with spaghetti or something I would love to hear how it turns out.
So after my last photo shoot I had a lot of left overs. Now I am not complaining, but you can only eat so much chocolate in one sitting. So we made ice cream!

Here are the leftovers that I had:
- Valrhona chocolate bar pieces
- Dessert Bites brownies
On top of that… I made the ice cream with what I had in the fridge:
2 C Heavy Whipping Cream
2 C 1% milk
3/4 C Sugar
2 teaspoons Vanilla
Blend the heavy whipping cream, milk, sugar and vanilla together. It is preferred that you refrigerate the mixture for a few hours but I was a little inpatient and put it into the ice cream maker right away. I removed the ice cream when it was still soft enough that I could mix in the brownie and the chocolate pieces. Then freeze the ice cream in an airtight container for a few hours and you are good to go.

I am willing to bet these will be the best leftovers you have had in awhile.
What do you do with your leftovers?

I don’t often have leftovers. But I suppose I feed them to our chickens. However, chocolate I would keep for myself!
Okay, random thought- I wish I had chickens. But my husband does not want them. Lucky for me I have an amazing friend at work that brings me eggs whenever I ask!
These leftovers look amazing! They would not last for long at my house! I have never made home made ice-cream I think that needs to change pronto.
I tell you it might be a bad habit to start. There are now very few ice creams that I will purchase… I now prefer my own. Thanks for coming by!
For pasta left overs (like tomato sauce and noodles), I’d reuse them the next day. Either I make another sauce for the noodles, or use the tomato sauce for another dish or add something up so it’s ‘different’. I don’t like putting good food in the trash!
I try really hard not to, but there always seems to be a few things that find there way there.
Thanks for coming by today!
Yes, my leftovers are different from yours, but I’d much rather eat yours!
That ice cream looks yummy, even for breakfast.
Ice cream on waffles? You got it!
Looks delicious!
You should know, they were your brownies.
Thank you! However, we have not ever made them into ice cream. And yours looks wonderful! Thanks for another inventive use of our brownies
You’re welcome.
Although now I have a problem… need more brownies.
Wow. That looks delicious!
Love this!!
Oh, Yum. I may love chocolate, but ice cream comes in a very close second. To me, this is a marriage made in heaven.
Okay, we can go out for ice cream and chocolate in Vegas.
Because we LOVE ice cream around our house too.
Awesome.
Those are some delicious leftovers.
I try to cook only what we need because most of the time we just toss leftovers. I used to save them and then have to toss them later (because no one would eat them), hence the reason I’m careful about portions now (because I hate to waste food). I could become more inventive, I know.
Using leftover sweets for ice cream is a great idea!
I try too… but there are always those leftovers that seem to find their way to the back of the fridge to hide for a couple months. I usually solve that one by cleaning out the fridge every time I grocery shop.
Thanks for coming by today.
Oh I do this all the time with the leftover cookie dough that is never enough to warrant doing another batch but is too much to just toss! I know, I know, but there is raw egg in it!! We use really farm fresh eggs from chickens that are truly allowed to forage so I never worry about that! Your idea to use leftover brownies…. I am definitely going to try that!
We don’t ever have left over cookie dough… mostly because I eat it.
Thanks for coming by!
very rarely happens but if there are some–hubbies lunch for the next work day =)
I try to encourage normal leftovers for that reason… but it does not always work out that way.
Hi. I discovered your blog through Online BlogCon. I, too, am from Salt Lake. I love your site. Chocolate is a “mild” love of mine and you have some yummy looking stuff on here. I would take your kind of leftovers anyday.
Hi! I am so excited you came by! I love meeting bloggers from Salt Lake. Are you sure you are not that interested in chocolate?
There is still tickets to a chocolate party/ fundraiser I am hosting in Salt Lake that are available. It would be so fun to meet IRL! party details are at http://shotofchocolate.com
