Actually it is more like this is where dreams are realized and made for others.
My chocolate friends, I would like to introduce you to some new friends of mine, Lisa and Travis of Dessert Bites. Beyond that I would especially like to introduce you to their tasty line of desserts, but more on that in a bit.
Chocolate friends are the absolute best. You are all the absolute best. The first phone conversation I had with Lisa at Dessert Bites we discovered that we knew many of the same chocolate lovers around town. I told her we were friends already. This statement was sealed in chocolate when I paid a visit to their kitchen, “where brownies come from”.

The beginning of the Sin Cake.
Lisa and Travis have one mission with their desserts. This mission is to give you a rich, exquisite and natural taste experience. They have gone to great work to pull together the top tier of ingredients, some of which are already mentioned on this blog. They have tested their recipes extensively to make sure that even though they might not use artificial coloring- taste and color are not jeopardized. They even make their own vanilla extract! This is where their dreams are realized and mine are made.
In other words, yum.
Lisa has always loved to bake. She talked about baking with her mother and using her Betty Crocker oven when when she was younger. Owning a dessert company has been a dream for her and Travis has leaped in also developing what is now their most popular dessert, the Sin Cake. Although they may not have what some would call formal culinary training, they are turning heads and people are taking notice.

Chocolate macaroons. Also in several other flavors.
My favorite question to ask is how does one come up with a new flavor to try? Lisa says that she usually peruses the spice cabinet. Travis said he likes to wander the grocery store for ideas. Good to know there are other souls aside from me that wander stores aimlessly letting their brain churn out crazy ideas.
The other thing I loved about Travis and Lisa is aside from making absolutely delicious desserts, they love pleasing the customer. Have a dessert in mind and cannot find it on the list? Ask away. So far there is not a request they have not fulfilled, even my request to deliver cakes to my sons daycare.

They call it the Original Brownie, but there is nothing original about rich, creamy and fluffy.
If you are local to Salt Lake you can find Dessert Bites at the Park Silly Market, the Sugarhouse Farmers Market, The Market in Park City and The Store in Holladay.
As for the desserts… I am going to leave your tongues hanging with a few pictures. More details to come! Happy Weekend!

You will have to stay tuned for details on the Sin Cake.
But if I could have one everyday… bliss. Thanks for joining the chocolate talk!
Looks great, I am a huge fan of chocolate. Those brownies look perfect. And I love there packaging.
LOL. If you read some of my chocolate reviews I have commented on the packaging! Why is it that desserts always have the best packaging?
Thanks for coming by!
I love desserts! I’ll have to check these guys out!
Maybe we should have them cater a blogger party? Or, they will be at the Shot of Chocolate Party on Nov 2…
Geeze does that sound good or what. I do wish they had a place or had a store that sold their stuff in Sacramento. I would be a frequent purchaser of their goodies.
I am sure Sacramento has its share of goodies too.
See you in a week!
Gina.. normally I am not big on chocolate… I know, I know, I’m weird (lol) HOWEVER.. these pictures make me want to go to Salt Lake and get some!! Grace, peace and blessings, Carla
They have non chocolate desserts too! And yes, I love chocolate, but I will admit they were pretty good as well.
Thanks for commenting.
Everything you showed pictures of looked fantastic! The next time I’m up in Salt Lake I will definitely search them out!
Stay tuned for the finish product of them all… and taste notes of course. I wish I could have a Sin Cake every day.
Okay seriously – you need a branch location in Memphis!
Maybe you could talk them into mail order?
