I don’t know about you, but I love the delicious sweetness in the air around Halloween. When I was younger I would be out from as early as I possibly could be until as late as my mother allowed collecting candy. It was the best day of the year and of course I always ate the chocolate treats first. Below are nine fair trade chocolate treats that you might consider using for Halloween. The Fair Trade label certifies that those who harvest and provide ingredients have been paid an appropriate salary to provide for themselves. When I haven’t been able to find a fair trade label, I’ve always tried to contact the company directly to assure ethical sourcing.

All said and done, I am anxiously awaiting the big night for Trick or Treating… although I don’t get as much candy as I used to.

Oh I just love Trick or Treating in the US! We don’t have as much fun here as you do it there. I love how each house is beautifully decorated and people actually giving out candies or for those who are out or lazy (hee hee!) they trustingly leave out a basket full of candies with a sweet note inviting all trick or treaters to take a candy. This post makes me wish I was in the US!
Sorry, I am not one of those impressive houses!
Is the US the only country that celebrates Halloween? I have never checked…
Those all look super yummy! I want to come trick or treat at your house.
We have not decided what our plans are yet… my 2 year old does not really understand trick or treating. So we will see if I stock candy this year. Otherwise, I would say come on by!
I’ll take 19 of each, to go.
LOL. I would too!
Those look awesome! My kids are excited about celebrating Halloween for only the 2nd time in their lives, as we lived overseas up until last year!
Where were you before? I think it is so exciting to hear about people’s adventures. Thanks for coming by today.
I LOVE the Dagoba products. So, so, yummy. Happy Early Halloween!
I am curious about the flavors I listed, I honestly have not tried those yet. Perhaps I will have to spotlight them soon on Chocolate Friday. Nice to hear from you today.
I love halloween, especially now that my little ones are little…because they won’t get ticked it we eat some of their candy! Thanks for the info on fair trade. I had no idea!
That reminds me- there was a movie that circulated last year about parents playing a joke on their kids and telling them that they ate all of their candy. It was pretty classic. Thanks for coming by Jess.
Lovely list of chocolates for Halloween. It’s a pity we don’t celebrate HAlloween here..
Where are you at? That is a bummer, Halloween has been a favorite of mine and it is definitely my husband’s favorite holiday. Thanks for coming by today!
Thank you so much for this list. I had been pondering what my treat would be for the trick or treaters and now I have what I need. Thank you my friend.
Is trick or treating big in your neighborhood? It has really died down here… I feel bad that it has, because I loved it so much growing up. Have a good night!
I did too. It has slowed down but, happily, we still get a fair amount of kids.
We recently moved from the country where no one trick-or-treated, because the houses were too far apart…now we live in a small city, and I’m looking forward to the kids coming to trick-or-treat! Thanks for the Fair Trade candy links! Hope you have a super October!
Right. There was one year we did not trick or treat when we were in the middle of Wyoming with some friends and the houses were very far apart.
Lavendar Blueberry Chocolate? That sounds crazy good!
We enjoy trick-or-treating here too.
That is the one out of the entire list that I really want to try… yum! Thanks for coming by.
Sounds divine! Thanks for all the great links! And thank you for sharing this on the Haunted Hop! Love to support fair trade when I can!
Thanks for hosting the party and returning the visit. Happy (early) Halloween!
Great tips! Thanks so much for sharing at Artsy Corner. Hope to see you again this week
