There’s milk chocolate and then there’s carefully crafted, well manicured milk chocolate. You’ve heard about them from me before and for good reason- my little palate sings happiness every time I eat it.
Millcreek Cacao has a new bar!
As we have discussed, Millcreek Cacao is rich in taste, elegantly made and this bar is no exception. As with their dark chocolate types, the bar is made of cacao beans from the Arriba Nacional species found in Ecuador.
Opening the bar reveals the familiar bar shape of Millcreek Cacao. But quickly you notice the rich aroma of chocolate blended with a delightful vanilla. The bar is slightly lighter brown than their other bars, but a perfect smooth shiny texture.
I have to pause here to tell you that breaking open a good piece of chocolate now is almost like Christmas morning. I get so excited because I just love all the different flavors and their variety. But hold back- and don’t rip into it as you might a Christmas present. Take note of the features of the bar that we discuss and your experience will be that much better.
Anyway. Breaking off a corner cuts into the stillness of the air, unlike most othe milk chocolate bars. Place a piece on your tongue, sit back and delight. The texture on the tongue is smooth and full. The taste of vanilla comes to life here in harmony with the chocolate and just a hint of berries. I enjoy a perfectly smooth bar and the Millcreek Cacao milk chocolate bar is just a touch under that. No biggie though because for me, taste definitely comes first.
For all of you out there that are a little timid of dark chocolate, this would be a bar for you. The cacao content is lower, chocolate taste is not comprimised and it is a little bit sweeter than most dark bars.
On a side note- a big congratulations to Dana and Mark of Millcreek Cacao! They have passed the first round in the Grow America Contest!
My husband comes home tonight after being gone for 10 days! I think we are going for Cafe Molise and a bit of chocolate this weekend. What are your chocolate plans?

Ooooh that sounds so yummy! I just discovered a chocolate crafter (?) in the Raleigh-Durham, NC area and hope to visit soon. I suggested it to my husband for our next daytime date.
Let me know who they are- perhaps I shall have to say ‘hi’ to them as well. Thanks for coming by!
New to your site – yummy! I’m a dark lover so off to look around your site a bit more!
Welcome! If you like dark chocolate, make sure to come back every Friday- we talk straight chocolate every Friday. What is your favorite type of chocolate? Have a good weekend!
It sounds good. I love dark chocolate, but i like it milder too!

If you get the chance, I highly recommend them! Thanks for coming by!
It occurred to me as I was reading your distribution of the chocolate bar that it reminded of a wine tasting experience. In many ways it’s the same. It requires all the senses to truly experience the complex flavors each have to offer. yum! BTW: many chocolate are a compliment to good wine.
Ha, ha! I have heard such rumors… but I don’t drink.
So for now, chocolate tasting will have to do. Now you know my secret of why I don’t comment on the wine posts- I have no input.
Ah! I get it now. No worries…
Chocolate still rules.
Dark chocolate is love!
We have plenty of it here for you! What is your favorite?
Now, this just makes me mouth water!
As it should- Millcreek is an awesome chocolate brand.
What is your favorite? Thanks for coming by and I hope you come back every Friday for chocolate Friday!
