Sweet and sassy. Sweet and spicy. Sweet and yummy.
Encased in a package of pink goodness, this bar was a petite tropical party for your palate. This little beauty scored my favorite wrapping… okay, because it was pink. I also liked the unique font and graphic layout that should say to you, “I am African”. The bar I am referring to is the Pink Pepper and Citrus made by the Madecasse Chocolate Company. They are one of the few companies to take their cocoa beans to bar entirely in Africa. I love these kinds of companies… their chocolate has a little bit of extra given sweetness.
Okay, sorry about my nerdiness for the package. Hopefully in my next life I will be a graphic designer.
Tear open the bar to reveal a sweet little sensation with a touch of pepper and begin your tropical fiesta. The bar is as beautiful as they come: smooth, dark brown and shiny. After a crisp snap, place a piece on your tongue and let the flavors begin to seep into your taste buds. The texture of the bar is slightly rough, but not so much that it distracts from the experience of the bar. The first taste is a sweet fruit complementing the bitterness of the chocolate. The taste then erodes to a perfect balance of spice and sugar.
This bar was a unique combination of 2 flavors that I have tasted separately in previous bars. The flavors I am referring to are chocolate spice and chocolate fruit. The combination of these three flavors was definitely a taste all in its own.
