Many athletes will quickly recite to you their favorite protein or energy bar. While this one has not been sent to a lab or tested for performance, after many iterations this bar has become a favorite! I hope you love the divine combination of peanut butter and chocolate! After all, what’s not to love?
Nummy Trail’n Bars
2 cups oats
1 cup granola
1/2 cup chopped almonds
1/2 cup broken pretzels
1/3 cup pitted and chopped (or pureed) dried dates
1/2 cup coconut syrup
1 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup butter
1 cup chocolate chips (I recommend any fair trade brand)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix all ingredients in a bowl. Press mixture into a lightly greased 9″x13″ pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Remove from oven, sprinkle chocolate chips over mixture and return to the oven for 2 minutes. Finish by spreading the softened chocolate chips into a thin layer covering the bars.
Cut and enjoy!

I love the word cheffy… and yes, it should not be very difficult. I definitely struggle with a few things in the kitchen myself. Thanks for coming by!

You are wlecome! Thanks for hosting!
Are the pretzels broken down or crushed? The photo makes it look so smooth and delicious but I would imagine the pretzels just broken would make it chunky?
Leigh
Kind of both? What I did was take the pretzels, place them in a 9×9 pan and crush them with the bottom of a cup. So they are not pureed, but they are not just broken either. It may end up being a bit of your personal preference as well. Thank you for the question!
omg I love choc & pb!!
Isn’t it one of the best combinations ever? Thanks for coming by.
I’m so glad I found your blog! These look delicious. Looking forward to trying them tonight. Thanks for posting on the All Star Block Party!
