How Many Chocolate Bars Does it Take to Move?

Recently there have been many studies to help us appreciate the health benefits in a bar of chocolate. However, I am fairly certain that there are no studies asking the question, “How many chocolate bars does it take to move?” How much energy is put out? How much chocolate is required to supplement energy used?

I am pretty sure that there is no such study out there, but if you know of one please tell me.

We moved our family again this last Saturday. My husband lost his job near the end of February and we moved in with his mom at that time to save money. We both received job offers on the same day (can you believe it?) about six weeks ago. Since then we have been enduring long drives to work and were very blessed to house sit for a friend for a couple of weeks while we waited for our house to be ready.

Anyway, the moving marathon actually began Friday night when we had neighbors help pack us up. We went to bed very late and had to get up very early. While I was running around that morning I had not eaten breakfast and it was getting close to time to leave.

Many of you know that I have a chocolate stash that I divulge once a week for chocolate Friday. This week, I thought I would make an exception and have an extra chocolate bar for breakfast. I selected Green & Blacks 70% Bar.

Breakfast

Later that day we were busily unpacking and I did not feel like stopping to make lunch so I had another bar, the Potomac Chocolate 70% Nib.

Now as I sit here tired and sore, I am enjoying Amano Morobe… the beans are from Papa New Guinea. Yum… but I am still tired.

So I know that you have often wondered and now you know for the next time you move! It takes three chocolate bars… although I hope that none of you have to move any time soon.

Have a fabulous day!

  1. Ha! I love this. They really should do a study like this, but I personally like your qualitative research. Three bars sounds like a good number to me.

Behind the scenes, you could say it was four. We tried a raw bar before the Amano bar. However, I was also drinking some juice at the time, so I am not sure if the extra sweet juice made the already bitter chocolate taste worse? That was the reason that we had the Amano bar- they are local so I get plenty!

I’m glad the move is going well. I know it will feel wondeful to be settled in. I can’t think of a better way to incent a move then with chocolate bars. As much as I hate to move, chocolate would at least “sweeten” the process a bit. :)

Hopefully I don’t have to dig through boxes to find clothes for tomorrow- we are at least at that point! Thanks for taking the time to come by today. :)

“We moved in with his mom” was a bit crazy. It’s always interesting to move back in with your mom after you’ve lived away from home longer than you actually lived there growing up.

Good times but loved every minute of it!

  4. Always hate to hear when people loose jobs but so glad it worked out in the end. Congrats on the new house that’s great!

Huge blessings have some our way ever since that happened. I think both of us are in better positions now because of it. Thanks for coming by! I have been meaning to check in with you since you got back from vacation. :)
