Happy Friday! It is time for a fiesta! … of sorts.
Recently I attended a blogging conference- yes there is such a thing.
Anyway, it was my first and I am hopeful that there will be a second. If you are into blogging and have the opportunity to go, I recommend it. I attended the Evo ’12 conference in Park City, UT. Even if you are not able to go to the conference, but still visit Park City- I recommend that too!
Anyway, while I was at the conference I attended a dinner sponsored by the California Avocado Commission. Oh my delightful… and adventurous. But that is another story. While we were they we experimented with all kinds of ingredients to make the best guacamole and now would like to share all the ideas with you. The original recipe for our group is also located in the link below.
As much as I love guacamole and loved the dinner, I needed to find a way to tie this in to chocolate. . .
Never fear, there is the internet ever present for inspiration. After a few minutes browsing and a shopping list, here is what I came up with.

Berry Good Chocolado
2 Avocados
3 Tablespoons Agave
3 Tablespoons Cocoa Powder
1 teaspoon Vanilla
1/2 cup Raspberries
Using a hand mixer, blend avocado, agave, cocoa powder and vanilla in a bowl. Mix in raspberries last either by hand or for a short period with the mixer. The raspberries should still be chunky. Chill overnight.

I loved this. Eat it with pitas, fruit or just dig in with a spoon. My husband was not so fond of it. One thing for sure though is that the avocados add a healthy cream texture while the raspberries compliment it with a sweet and fruity bliss.

Do you guys have any good recipes that use avocado?
Yay for Friday!

I need to get myself to a blogger conference. I understand that their is a Blogger Bootcamp in LV this Oct. I am working on attending.
The recipe sounds interesting. I will need to try it to let you know what I think.
BTW: Do you use special lighting with your photography?
If you are really planning on attending Bloggy Boot Camp- let me know. It would be fun to meet up in person! I have been considering it.
The recipe is definitely interesting. I tried a couple other versions, but I thought the raspberries just made it tons better.
To answer your question about pictures, I rarely use special lighting. I try to do most of my pictures by a window and use a reflector on the opposite side to ‘fill’ in the shadows (lighten them up so you can see more detail). It is a basic technique, but the photos usually look great every time.
Anyway… have a good night!
I have it on my radar and hope to make it. I will keep you posted. I would be cool to meet up there.
AWW… that makes so much sense. I will need to get that. I am still learning about my camera(s). so I may ask you many more questions…
For sure, let me know about the conference. That would be fun.
Ask away on the camera questions, I don’t mind at all. By the way, when I say reflector, it can be a piece of white paper, which is what I used for this. Anything that is white or reflective will work. Then it depends on the size of your project- how muc light you need to reflect.
It would.
Thanks for the info.
OK.. I love avocados and I love chocolate. Two of my favorite things to eat. And I love a good raspberry chocolate combo.. Never thought of trying them all together ~ until today

Hope you like it… maybe a dish for an Olympic opening ceremonis party? I am so excited to watch tonight, I have not watched the opening ceremonies for awhile. Thanks for coming by!
Love the choc avo combo. I have linked in to Claire Justine a post about the artist Klimt. Cheers
Have you tried it before then? My husband sure looked at me strange while I was making it.
Thanks for coming by!
I think I would just eat this chocolately goodness with a spoon!
That is generally my take on things.
Thanks for coming by!
So fun meeting you at EVO. What a fun way to combined avocado and chocolate. Bet it would be great in a crepe.
Yummy idea! I will have to make a note of that one! Thanks for coming by!
Sounds very interesting…very interesting. Chocolate and avocado? Really? I don’t know…
Thank you so much for joining us in Thursdays Favorite Things Blog Hop! With His grace, wishing you peace and many blessings to you and yours… Carla
Give it a try… the avocado just adds an incredible creamy texture and the raspberries complement both. Thanks for coming by!
