I was pretty intrigued when I found a piece of chocolate that contained random items such as Ramen noodles, french toast and limes. Seriously? What have chocolate makers come to? A new level of desperation to find the best flavor.
I purchased the bright green bar anyway, not wanting to miss out on a possible break through. The bar sat on my shelf for a couple of weeks until I finally pulled it out to try.
Tortilla and Lime the wrapper says. Now if I had the choice between chocolate and chips and salsa, I would definitely choose the chocolate. So, I was not so sure about the two of them together.
Komforte Chockolates was developed with the idea to challenge the normal trends in taste while at the same time providing something familiar to us all. Interesting idea…

The Results
Fun. All about fun. The flavor of the bar was very unique, probably not anything I would ever dream up.
Upon cracking open the bar it is hard not to miss the scent of lime mixed with chocolate invading your senses. Drawing the piece closer reveals the underlying saltiness from the tortilla chips.
The bar is slightly dull, light brown because it is milk chocolate.
The bar has a soft snap to it… or again, maybe that is because it has been quite warm here lately.
The taste of the bar is a constant fuel of lime and milk chocolate with spurts of salt as a tortilla chip piece is revealed during the melting process. My mouth was pretty happy at this point.
The texture of the bar was pretty smooth, mostly the occasional tortilla chip as you work your way through the piece of chocolate.

I would be curious to know how this flavor would taste in a higher cocoa content bar….
Regardless of that, am I excited to try another piece? Oh ya!

Sounds like an adventurous invention and one that I’m not necessarily sure I’d savor.
I think I liked chocolate variations a lot better when I was younger, but these days I’m happy with a few slivers of Dove. Delicious and smooth seems to be my favorite these days.
Delicious and smooth is definitely out there in many variations. My favorite as of late is Millcreek Cacao. My intro post about them can be found here.
I am in the airport waiting to leave France. So I thought I would catch up on some posts and comments.
All I can say is yum. Your discrption made my mouth water. I love orange and chocolate then why not line as well. So now I need some chocolate, LOL.
I had so much fun describing this chocolate… because it was exactly that, fun. I hope you get to try some!
