Sweet Thursday- the Power of Mom

Happy Sweet Thursday everyone!

We received a few more nominations for Sweet Thursday this week. Yay! Please keep them coming. I love to read about how awesome people are and then share it with others. Talk about sweet! To nominate someone, click here.

Anyway, this week’s winner is Ericka Wingler, nominated by Stephanie Hungerford. Did I mention that they both get free chocolate? :)

Erica- rockstar mom

Stephanie wanted to nominate Ericka for being an awesome stay at home mom. She states that she works hard raising their three year old and making barrettes to sell for extra income and somehow does this all while dealing with chronic migraines from a car accident 3 years ago. She also has to avoid bright sunlight and strong scents which is why working as a stay at home mom becomes very important to her. If this was not enough, her husband has also been out of work for quite a while.

Personally I know about the “husband out of work” situation all too well. We just finished out a second bout of my husband being without a job for a time.  On the other side of things, as a nurse I have also witnessed several patients that have to make lifestyle changes to deal with chronic headaches.

Thank you for being an awesome example Ericka! I hope you enjoy your chocolate… and I hope it doesn’t give you a headache. I’ve heard of that being a possible cause and sure hope that’s not the case in your situation.

To maintain a positive attitude in the storms that happen in life is always an inspiration. When there are physical limitations to deal with, even more so. Kudos to Ericka for keeping a smile on her face through all that life has thrown at her. :)

I am the person who nominated Ericka. The update is that her husband just got a job at McD’s. Though it is not the best job it is better than nothing. He also had has a friend from church who lent him the tools to be a window washer which has helped a little bit until they get more financially stable.

She lived with me for almost 2 years. She has always had a wonderful attitude. She helped to take care of me while my health was spiraling out of control. I moved out when I was stable and healthy enough to take care of myself for the most part.

You two sound like good friends. And I think we should correct this to have both of you receive the Sweet Thursday award. You are both awesome. I think a positive attitude is a key factor to happiness, it just naturally leads that way. Anyway, that is fantastic to hear the job update. I know I was relieved when my husband found a job. Best of luck to both of you, it has been a pleasure meeting you. See you again soon, and thanks again for the nomination.

Sounds like she has a great outlook and continues to be a great Mom through a tough issue (migraines!) SO glad to see the update that her husband found a job. ♥
