Weekly Flavor- Recipes to Try

My list of recipes to try keeps getting longer. The only downside of this is that it takes longer to cook my dinners because I don’t already ‘know’ how to make the food. Oh well, anyone can tell you that I am a fan of good food. So here it goes, my weekly flavor of recipes to try!

First lets start with the chocolate, because that is what most of you come here for. :) My husband can tell you that I LOVE smores and he actually bought me a smores cook book. Aside from traditional smores I will pretty much take it in any combination I can get it.

Next I absolutely love salad’s, especially anything grilled…

A favorite flavor of ours is anything Mexican or Southwestern. We have been trying to makes soups once a week because we can freeze single servings and use them for lunches.

I have tried a roll similar to this at a restaurant but it was fried. Looking forward to trying a healthy version.

Since you touched on s’mores, I wanted to share some variations I like:

    1) Add peanut butter. You can spread a thin layer onto your graham or just do what I do and use peanut butter cups bought at the store in place of the chocolate.

    2) Try caramel or butterscotch ice cream topping. Pour just a small bit right down the enter of the graham cracker. It will be messy but it’s worth it…of course how messy is up to you.

    3) Stuff some chocolate chips inside the marshmallow before heating over the fire.

    4) If you don’t have a fire pit and want a quick s’more with a browned marshmallow, feel free to use the gas range and a kabob stick to brown up your morsel. If you don’t have a gas range, you can use an electric coil but it takes some skill. Of course you can always use the microwave but your mallow doesn’t brown, the chocolate can scorch and the graham sometimes burns so I usually don’t try that method.

At any rate, s’mores are delicious (and always messy) no matter how you make them. Enjoy your creations!
