R&R, Trash to Treasures

**My Chocolate Peaces definition of R&R- reuse and recycle. Use items that might otherwise be thrown away and do something fun with them. **

I was at our local second hand store and found these old coasters. Hmmm…

Old Coasters

Typically I would not have been attracted to something like this, but I also remembered seeing some beautiful pictures with the paint cards at the local hardware store and an idea was born!

Paint cards

Cut the pictures to fit the old coasters and cover the current design.

Cut the pictures

Apply the pictures to the coasters with Modge Podge.

Modge Podge to the coasters

**Make sure that you press down all over the pictures to get rid of the air bubbles. I did not do this very well. **

Cover the entire top of the tile with Modge Podge, or some other type of sealant. The issue here is that Modge Podge is a water based sealant and will not create an effective barrier for a coaster.

Finished Coasters

Let dry and give to a friend!

Total cost for this project: $2.00

Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a fabulous day.

  1. I love R&R-ing! I reused an old oatmeal canister to make a toilet paper holder, and I’m working on a super fun project right now with an old pallet I found out in our alley!
